About us

Second Serve MetroWest is a local chapter of Second Serve, an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps under-resourced children access tennis. We collect usable tennis gear in New Jersey and help it reach young players who need it.

Our chapter was founded in 2025 by Elliot Lavian, then a freshman and member of the tennis team at Livingston High School.

Our story

More kids.
More courts.
More opportunity.

Access to a racket and other essentials can be the first step toward discovering a lifelong sport.

Elliot has played tennis since he was eight years old. The sport became an important part of his life, and he wanted to share that opportunity with kids who may not have the same access to equipment or resources.

In 2025, he started the Second Serve MetroWest chapter to bring Second Serve’s mission to his community.

“I believe every child should have the chance to experience the opportunities that tennis can provide.”

When we all play, we all win.
